Installing Flat Packed Cabinets By Ekitchens In Perth

Whether you’ve had a bad experience in the past with a flat pack disaster or are new to the world of DIY and feeling a little apprehensive, the thought of putting together a flat pack kitchen might sound way too difficult. However, it’s easier than you think! Today, we’ll be sharing our tips for making the installation of your flat pack kitchen as easy possible.

Check it once, check it twice

Don’t make the mistake of assembling your flat pack cabinets without having a look at the instructions first. Although it’s likely to be relatively simple, you don’t want to go ahead and get assembling only to realise right at the end that you’ve missed an important step. Take the time to read your instructions a couple of times before you get started.

Assemble in the kitchen

Try to set up your flat pack cabinets in the kitchen or as close to the kitchen as possible. If you set them up outside or in another area, remember that you’ll need to carry them into the kitchen which is awkward and can also cause damage to your cabinets. Do yourself a favour and stay in the kitchen area for easier installation.

Install doors last

Getting your cabinets in place can take a bit on manoeuvring so don’t attach your doors until everything is in place. If you attach your doors too early, you risk damaging them – not a good look for brand new cabinet doors! Instead, install the carcass and confirm that you’re happy with placement. You can then go about inserting shelving and finally attaching the doors. That way, your doors will remain in perfect condition.

Call or email for advice

If you run into difficulties during the installation of your cabinets, remember that you can call your supplier for some assistance. They’ll (generally!) know exactly how to assemble your cabinets and will be more than happy to give you some pointers.  To make sure you have this option, before you commit to buying it’s a good idea to confirm that the company you’re purchasing from is available via telephone or email for support.

Look for a pre-assembled option

If you just don’t have the time or inclination to assemble your own flat pack kitchen, you can look into pre-assembled cabinets for a more convenient option. Once your pre-assembled cabinets arrive, you can either install them yourself or hire a carpenter to do it for you – whatever works best for you!
